There are different types of immigration appeals, depending on what decision you are filing an appeal against.

The appeal process is very complicated and usually requires an experienced immigration appeal lawyer with appellate experience. There are also strict deadlines that must be met to file an appeal.

Appeals and deadlines

An appeal can be made within 30 days of receipt of the refusal letter.

If you have been found to be inadmissible and ordered to leave Canada, an appeal can be made within 30 days of receipt of the refusal. 

If you are found to be inadmissible an appeal can be made within 30 days of the decision.

If you have been determined not to fulfill the residency requirements, an appeal can be made within 60 days.
